Hearing from the Mlearning gurus

The US tends to be ahead of us here in Europe when it comes to wholeheartedly embracing new technologies. Partly because of the sheer size of the country, there seems to be a conference for just about everything. And there’s certainly one for mobile learning.

On June 25th, Chicago will be welcoming Mlearning enthusiasts to its Float Mobile Learning Symposium 2012. The conference, held in conjunction with the techweek conference, will be looking at the state of mobile learning strategy, design and development. Topics such as mobile security and design will be discussed by experts in the field.

Last year was their first-ever mobile learning symposium and was attended by more than 100 people from higher education institutions, as well as small businesses and corporations.

But how and where do we share ideas about Mlearning in the Europe? This year’s IADIS Mobile Learning International Conference went some way in providing such a forum for discussion.  The 11th World Conference on Mobile and Contextual Learning is being held in Helsinki, Finland, this year and will also be covering similar topics.

Do you know of any other Mlearning events going on and are there any in the UK? Please share your insight.
